The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 简奥斯汀还够好莱坞再拍几十年。这一部拍得非常无聊——摇摇晃晃的镜头、不合逻辑的场景、自作聪明的台词、集体掉线的演员。女主的演技仿佛一夜回到解放前。即使是在如此"戏说"的设定下，漂亮的脸蛋也没能撑起直面镜头的独白。

各位主角自恋又做作的劲头，让人误以为在看美国城市轻喜剧。本观众尴尬得差点用脚抠出10座庄园。这是有史以来最差劲的简奥斯汀改编，没有之一。
