The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 小众小成本惊悚片，其实一点都不吓人，胆小的同学们可以放心食用。整体的完成度还可以，但是有一些软件问题：这个反派存在感真的好弱，最后被秒杀我真是WTF；还有妹妹的那一条情节线基本上没有什么作用，某种程度上算得上是累赘了。硬件问题基本没有，导演的把控力还是可以的，虽然故事经不起太细致的推敲，但是还是能让观众（比如说我）投入进去。总体上三颗星，打发时间可看。
预告比正片精彩，影片想聚焦finney的求生和grabber的人物动机故事，导致没有重点，做的都一般，胜在较为新颖通灵形式。
《拐骗儿童自救手册》：用少年的记忆替代心路历程挺好的。但其他人物的存在和诡异行径似乎只是因为这是部恐怖类型片；同时，罪犯随便找个路人来演区别也不大
中规中矩，伊桑霍克就是想演个变态杀人狂就找个剧本给他拍着玩吧 ？！
真的又蠢又无聊。构建一个完全的空壳的假兮兮背景然后就演自己的故事搁那自说自话。别来搞臭“恐怖”“悬疑”“超自然”题材好吗。一个悬疑电影故事的推动纯靠导演想干嘛就干嘛。至于为什么无需解释因为就是这样。holy shit
兄妹情感人，妹妹棒呆了，中间墨迹，结尾爽到，另外虽然没直接描述过grabber的经历，但完全可以给他做个画像。
还不错的片子，不过有一个坑没填，伊桑被拿掉面具后为啥就破防了？

7/10 就有点stranger things x IT的感觉。可圈可点。
有点意思。气氛不错。小伙子演技不错。故事可。
俩小朋友很可爱，伊桑戴着面具也觉得帅，剧情就一般啦，比较无聊。我是年纪大了么，鬼片让我毫无感觉。
唯一看点是最后二十分钟，前面一个多小时简除了镜头语言其他直是灾难级别，有种说不出的便秘感，把热门电影的模式全套了，但就是没感觉甚至是无聊……又工整又没新意。
本质上还是在讲青少年成长，元素（雨天、黄雨衣、红靴子、气球）和内核都在致敬《小丑回魂》；小女孩梦境那条线有些鸡肋，对情节发展没起到太大推动作用；配乐加分，小男孩逃脱部分用了Pink Floyd的《on the run》，循序渐进的旋律和紧凑的鼓点把焦躁、惊恐、紧张的氛围烘托出来了～
故事简单但剧情绝不简单，看得我提心吊胆，结局绝对比博燃，不错。另外，超喜欢小姑娘，真飒
真的跟小丑回魂差远了，伊桑霍克这演了一个毫无角色塑造的无脑变态，三星给小演员的演技
原来是斯蒂芬金儿子的故事，还是有些意思，如果男孩之间的友情铺垫在多点就更有味道了

近期看过最好看的惊悚片。有几个镜头吓得我尖叫了一下。。。小男孩可塑性还挺强，杀人后回学校眼神都不一样了。还有导演如果好好去拍奇异博士2，估计不至于那么难看吧哈哈哈
