The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 影片的枪战和动作戏水平还行，还是可以看的。但是剧情实在让我懵逼，中间迈克尔.基顿和MAGGIE Q都已经清楚双方的立场是对立的，也没有转圜余地，也不打算叛变，俩人竟然握手言欢上床了，WHTA THE FUCK？这到底是干嘛？都上床了，最后又搞了个两败俱伤，一死一重伤，这是啥结局？导演编剧你们在逗我玩？我给3星5.8分，删掉了！

被dy的两位餐厅桌子底下，互相拿枪指着对方调情吸引进来，边看边骂，差点睡着了，果然不能信dy。
这个剧本的故事和角色端的是“羚羊挂角无迹可求”。
里面有我最讨厌的杀手装读书人桥段，表现方式是，随便聊起一本书，可以背诵其中的段落，另一个还能接力背诵。
一部不用管剧情，只看大美腿肉搏的戏，不难看。
硬核动作片。人物动机推动情节的部分我觉得写得很弱，但好在打戏蛮好看的。以及这还血腥？完全不到需要预警的程度吧……（说真的刘亦菲不该参考Maggie Q的戏路吗？既然会演打戏就演冷面女杀手嘛，反正你俩演戏一个路数，你还比她好看！
Maggie Q太适合演这种片了，我甚至把这当做一集Nikita来看的

前面看各种装，还挺高大上，而且还有麻惹侠，经费不足靠嘴炮，结尾简直是灾难，看完觉得很无语！

本来想3星，但这个真的是毫无逻辑到了极点。。。
宛如上世纪九十年代的硬派动作片，暴力、粗俗，又不乏英雄主义与伤痕过往。当保守平权和超级英雄大肆其道，似乎人们早已不愿再去触碰源自西方世界先前的干涉原罪而导致的恐慌症候的虚构演绎——动作惊悚片恰恰是最通俗而震慑的精神洗礼。马丁·坎贝尔或许是如今世上最后几位用流行电影于严肃和浮夸间书写前一世代遗留问题的创作者之一，当然这或许暗示了这批优秀行活动作片导演的过时，但他们依然真正把握着动作场面与深度叙事间的精确分寸以及经典动作类型电影的技法腔调，并因此在当下意外重铸出了这一类型本已不再背负的超现实下的现实指涉。
冲着李美琪看的，我感觉剧情不好，叙事方式也不好，故事讲不明白。就知道女主师傅死了，又没死，最后爆炸了他死没死？女主跟另一个杀手一会儿相杀，一会儿上床，一会儿又相杀，最后谁死谁没死？其他的剧情完全没看懂
